| A thread has popped up on the playstation forum about which view people use during racing.
The arguement started when someone suggested an in game option to control the view of all drivers in the same race. For example, an all cockpit view race.
I used cockpit view for the first two months of online racing. I switch to bumper view after I started to get competitive. The reason I switched is simple. Bumper cam gives a better view of your surroundings.
However, I think cockpit feels more real and I think we should try an "all cockpit" view race. Might be fun.

| I love cockpit view for the realism related to all the interior features and it is fun for a change of pace when I'm just fooling around. However, for me the feeling of the car's balance is not as accurate when in the cockpit view. I prefer the feeling of the car's balance when in the bumper cam view instead and I am quicker from that vantage point because of that! I agree with Blackjack when he said " Bumper cam gives a better view of your surroundings" but would have to disagree about his comment regarding the cockpit feeling more real. Just a personal preference and I would still be willing to try some racing from the cockpit view. Keep in mind of course, that we should look for a car with a descent viewpoint to make the transition much better for everyone! | |

| Cockpit from day 1. To try bumper cam would be relearning the space I have around my car. | |

| I like both Cockpit view and Bumper view. I prefer to use bumper view though as you guys say, gives a better view of the surroundings. I feel cockpit view cuts out half of the rearview mirror and no left or right side mirror depending on the side of drive per car.
I would enjoy an all cockpit view race though, as it is quite enjoyable to use this view.

| I use the full car view from behind or 3rd person view as some call it. Not a very popular one, I know, but without feedback from a wheel, I personally find it a little easier to control slides with a controller as you see them sooner.
For the experience, cockpit view is the future, lol and sometimes I run on this, however, I am significantly slower and more prone to some 'rubbing'. The one thing I find with people using this view, is a tendency to pull back in too soon after a draft pass, straight into the side of the car being overtaken.

| when i made the transition from gt4 to gt5 i knew the cockpit view was the view for me. it wasnt easy at first, especially since i used outside the car view in gt4, but i'm glad i stuck with it cause it's the most rewarding experience. | |

| Full view is what I have been driving with. I switched to cockpit view for camera once in a while. It's hard for me to use the cockpit view in the corners, doesn't seem like I can calculate the correct distance between the car and wallls | |

| I use bumper view, primarily to use the tachometer in this view. I have always found the bar graph for a tach to be hard to accurately use while engine braking. The rearview mirror helps keep an eye on others coming from behind, while the suspension travel helps me see how hard I am braking for turns. Perhaps an event in which we use all views in succession would be fun while helping us understand the viewpoint of our fellow racers. | |
