| Oh, absolutely worth it! Where else can you get a factory stock car that comes that close to such high performance numbers for less than $70,000?
Just a base model will come in under $60,000 and it'll still run 11s in the 1/4 mile! Wait untill I find a drag test on a strip with some stickeys! Hello 10 second E.T.s!

| Given that the 2008 Shelby was 500+ bhp and nearly 100k, they made some good moves with this one. They should make an "Eleanor" version also. Some sort of Carol Shelby tribute on the car would have been a nice send off (like a badge on the dash and rear-end or quarter panel).
Gotta love seeing all the Chevy guys roll their eyes in the comment section, a lot of chest thumping going on. As a guy that likes all cars, makes and models; I just love seeing them compete and end up building some hot stuff.
From Mopar, I'd like to see a "Judge", and since they still build platform cars, a limited Plymouth Cuda run would be awesome (since they were the same car as the Challenger). From Chev, I'd like to see a better retro style for the new Camaro, with a nice SS version (with a rim designed like the old rally). I saw a custom car on tv that had 20 inch alloy rallies that was deadly.

| Hmm, maybe the exchange rate has something to do with that $100,000 price tag you saw Poker. That, or the car you saw might had been from Shelby American. They would take new GT500s and tweak 'em a bit to see anywhere from 600-850 HP.
Their last project saw 1000 HP (well, close to it anyway) and went for like $150,000. These so called 'Super Snakes' are more of a tuner version of the Ford GT500.
Ponitac was the one with the Judge for their GTO. Sadly, GM didn't think it wise to continue the brand. But, hey.... they did bring us the Volt!

| Made from 2007 to 2009, the first 3 years are sweet pieces in their own right. They even did GT500KR models in '08 and '09.
The '07-'09 GT500 had the iron block 5.4 with aluminum heads and made 500 HP with 480 LB FT. These were good for easy 12 second passes at 110 MPH in the 1/4 mile. 0-60 were mid 4 seconds with the top speed limited to 155. These are plentiful, and can be found for as little as $30,000.
The GT500KR upped the power to 540 and torque to 510. Differences in the the hood, wheels, and badging call out the so called 'King of the Road'. Maybe Poker saw one of these, a bunch had been sent to Canada in '09.
The 2010 saw the regular GT500 get the same engine tweaks the KR did to put the power at the same level. However the 2011s saw a switch to an aluminum block and revised camming to put out 550 HP with the same torque at a lower RPM for a broader curve. This car ran low 12s and a suspension package offered on the car helped it see 1.00G on the skid pad.
I love thes cars, and hope everyone has an opprotunity to see them on the road and in action. If you can swing it Ace, get one, you wouldn't be dissapointed.

| Oh, I see, let's get faggy ol' Angus to tell us stupid Americans that it doesn't matter that the Camaro get's it's ASS kicked all over the place.....the Camaro just just feels better. Yeah, that's it, and it's so much easier to drive and boy howdy how about those brakes........
Fact is Bee, when the chips are down and you're at a stoplight, the ZL1 gets smoked, everytime. And gee, when you take it to a race track, it gets smoked, everytime. But, hey, the Camaro comes with an automatic........

| So the Camaro will be woefully un-prepared then when the awesome brakes and killer tires meet the 11th lap! | |

| Well imo I personally like both cars...Not really a GM guy but ZL1 i would say is a better track car despite it being less powerful and heavier. The mustang is just a bad ass car that needs to be driven fast and win some street races. If you want a track ready mustang it would definetely be the Boss302...not saying it will beat a zl1 but probably a 392 | |

| Just wanted to share in what I saw. Funny how everyone reverts to 'the Camaro is the better track car' when you know full well nobody spends money on a car like that and takes it to the track stock to run hard laps. These cars are made to run on the street, and that is where they will be found. Not sure what the tripping over self to offer up the ZL1 is really about, but.....whatever. | |

| Oh, and beleive it or not, I'd be just as happy to see GM sell a 10,000 ZL1s. I was just excited to see the GT500 brought into such a high realm of performance. Ford has continually built and developed the GT500 since '07. There was always so much potential with the car from the start. Now with a larger displacement engine and a more carfully thought out package, what you had to spend a lot to modify before comes with a factory warranty. The Camaro has always been the better handling car in the past. And even when they had OVER a liter of displacement vs the Mustang they weren't too far ahead in straightline performance. Now they have a little less than 1/2 a liter advantage yet still give up some 80 odd HP. With their trick suspension sporting larger tires and greater balance they can still come close to the GT500 on a track like Laguna Seca. They'll still get smoked at the stoplight GP though! | |

| Dodge should make a Challenger SRT8 ACR and have it compete against ZL1 and GT500, that'll be pretty cool. Supercharge that 6.4 | |

| A ZL1 does 200mph in street version like GT500. Guess not huh 3D has a good point, I wouldn't take cars like that and turn it into a track car then being whooped by others on the track. Personally, I would get the GT500 just because........just because it will do at least 197mph. I can get to Vegas in less than 2 hours and how many street cars out there can do 200mph for <$65K. I like them bare. Oops!! I mean rare | |
