| This is what I was doing this weekened Be sure you have no heart condition and drink plenty when come to this high speed races. Starting out somewhere under 250hp then move up after each race. Let's see who I will ask to join me next time............ 1- Black Jack 2- Deadmans 3-3D Click on link below to see 2 clips on Vayron and 2 on Bimmer....Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPLt8c-CzOw | |

| Looks fun? Definitely, I had a blast. I didn't mean to exclude anyone, the reason I didn't ask all because I know some of RIP members don't care for this kind of race. I know the DSS guys would love it cuz I do Let me rephrase, everyone are welcome to race there. The more the merrier | |

| I knew there was a use for the Veyron other than an excuse to blow 2,000,000 credits! Would seem HP is king in a race like that, and the Veyron has plenty of HP! Are these all HP based contests? Or do they factor in weight or PP?
You know, I never really ever raced there before.

| Depending on the host, I have been in races that have both weight and hp restriction and other time just hp.
There was a US track that run only Vayrons and I met this very fast Braziian in a 2 cars race after everyone else have left. My Vayron topped out at 271 solo in the tunnel and this guy can catch me every time from a great distance. A few times he waited then gave me head starts:lol:

| Hmm, you may need to rethink your setup for those if he can run you down while hitting 270! | |

| I think the Viper ACR's would be fun there as well, I'll run mine there to test it out. I'll also check my Veyron's top speed. Has anyone tried the Speed 12 there? That's a major powerhouse car that I'll test as well. I have run drag races on 7 with that car and it is crazy fast. I'll post some results this afternoon. | |

| Speed 12 looks great. I'll look for you next time I come online Poke. This is a little strange, the replays shown this fast Vayron redlined at 268mph on 6th and refused to upshift even when he got my draft:scratch: He caught up with me prolly with his quicker acceleration. Based on 6th at 268mph I figured out his final gear is 2.000 and he's not affraid of walls not sure why he wouldn't go 7th, prolly don't want to be in front while we were in the tunnel due to his 6 speed manual transmission limitation. He gave away one of his secret This person must have spent great deal of time with the Vayron and Route 7 to come up with this strategy. | |

| i tested all the cars out. So far my Veyron is fastest at 275 mph no draft, the Speed 12 at 240 mph, and the Viper at 255 mph. I'm curious to see what my Veyron does in draft though, cuz my Viper does 270 + mph in draft. The Speed 12 lacks a good tranny. But all in all the Veyron does the best, in a straight line. The Viper is the best in the corners at route 7 of the three.
Top Speed best 275 mph - Veyron - 1239 HP

| Hmm, some times I wonder on the sophistication of the physics in the game. The faster a car goes, the more drag the engine must overcome to push through to maximum speed. It seems to me that aerodynamic drag may be overlooked in this game, as I have only ever had seen power limited (pull no further do to lack of hosepower) and gearing limited (running out of RPM or having gearing too high to pull)
With over 1200 horsepower, the Veyron would indeed be the car to beat in such a contest. The weight is less consequential due to the momentum the inertia provides. A car with less weight, but less hosepower would have a much harder time overcoming the drag that increases as speeds rise.
I once read somewhere that to go 150 mph in a 3300 lb car, one would only need approximatley 300 or so horsepower. Yet as the target speed rises, much more power would be needed to go another 35 or so mph. I forget what the formula is, but I do know that mass by velocity equals force. Drag is figured in there somewhere and you can get an idea of how fast the vehical could go. Obviously there is much more to it, such as rolling resistance, gearing, peak power at a given RPM, and even air density, (not to mention elevation or atmosphere)
I'd like to try this out with you guys sometime soon. Maybe some of you guys with engineering backgrounds could dig around for some of the pertinent information.

| I watched the replay again tonight and this guy short shifted either at 7K RPM or just below it, his fastest lap was 3.58. I should be able to come online tomorrow night and have a few runs. | |

| Ok, so mid 3'50s are what we're looking for. I'll see if there is anything that comes close other than a Veyron. | |

| Well, I'll just pop in and see what's cooking. With the week I've had, another thing I wanted to do getting shot to heck won't really matter one way or the other. | |

| Wow, the Veyron really flies huh? Too bad it seems to be impossible to take even the most gradual of turns in the blasted thing. Now the Formula GT was really cool. We were able to run really close together and it was pretty awesome.
Only thing is, it seemed to me not to be very much fun slamming from one turn to the next, with the insane burst to 280 on occasion. Are all runs in the Veyron like that?

| Perhaps with more runs in it, I may be able to find a good flow around the track. | |

| I think the most important aspect to a successfull run there is knowing when to lift and gradually make the turns. | |
