I was watching Top Gear repeats today, and in 2010; they named the Veyron the car of the decade... Interesting huh?

Well yes, yes it is. That car represents the absolute best that is possible at this time for a production vehicle. Makes you wonder what the next decade will bring.

I'll remind you that the Veyron is not the fastest car at the Top Gear Test Track. It's not even the fastest production car. However, in terms of absolute top speed, nothing save for a few one-offs can match the Veyron. Heck, if I'm not mistaken, the current 911 Turbo S can match the Veyron to 60 from a standstill. Would make for a rather embarrassing stoplight encounter, no?

Yes, I agree 3D, I think as you stated previously, it's just a master crafted piece of art, and a brute. It is a beast in the weight category and size. But a beautiful, and absolutely unique unobtainable piece of machinery. LOL kinda like the Lexus LFA & the Rolls Royce Phantom huh? lol

Interesting thing I learned about the LF-A; After it was announced that there would be just a few hundred available, Lexus winds up telling the North American market that a few more would be available then previously thought.
Seems that other markets had to bow out of delivery because of the recession! I recall that the XJ220 suffered a simalar fate in the early '90s. Yet the McLaren F1 was able to make it, precisely for the reasons the Veyron was. With so few to be built, the wealthy individuals who would buy them would not be detered. The Chateau off the River Thames could wait another year for the new garden was but one way to rationalize it!
