I lost my entire gt5 save file tonight. How it happened was very strange.I was leaving a friends online lounge and froze up. I then hit quit game but instead of exiting the game, it turned off my ps3(not the 1st time this has happened). After turning my system back on i went back into gt5 and when asked to sign in a screen came up with an agreement notice followed by a screen asking to set the resolution & screen size. The only time i could remember ever encountering those screens was when i put gt5 in for the 1st time so needless to say i started thinking worse case scenario. I immediately exited the game and went into my saved data, that's when i saw a corrupted file which replaced my original gt5 file. If it weren't for my usb drive with saved file data, there would have been no way of recovering the lost file.Like it was said unto me, PLEASE invest in a usb drive and save your game progress regularly.

I suspect the reason for the corrupted file is because on leaving an online lounge the game automatically saves. So because my system turned off while it may have been in the process of saving( which is a big NO NO) it destroyed my entire gt5 file.Seeing that game freezes happen regularly i can't stress how much of a good investment a usb drive is. If it weren't for that, i probably would've stopped playing gt5 all together as i have gotten way too far to start over.Anothe tip is to backup your saved data on your usb on to your PC hard drive, in case something goes wrong with the usb.

Expect the unexpected Smile. This scenario that Joker just went thru could happen to anyone and he could have been in the worst case scenario, "starting over". The saved game file in his USB came very handy to save the day for him Smile

Save! Save! Save!

And like he said, backup your game file on a daily basis. It is also a great idea to make a copy of you saved file in your PC, at the least once a week, if not daily. Smile
