My driving rig set-up now I have a wheel. Pedals mounted upside down as in a real car with gear stick on the left for me! Some positioning may need a few tweeks still, but working ok for now.

The seat cost me $50 from a Brick Tent Sale and the materials for the rig were all free as it was left over from crates that had been shipped to me for work. I even salvaged all the wood screws from the crates too.

Looks looks like it should do the job WD. I see what the problem is, I don't see a beer/drink holder? J/k man

I have my shifter mounted right next to my wheel to minimize hand travel when shifting gears.

Shifter on wrong side..hmm. That explains why he drives on the wrong side of the track all the time...lol.

Nice rig WD. Toss some paint and stickers (make some RIP ones) on it and you're good to go. That thing looks like it will last forever...or till GT6 comes out...which ever comes first..lol

Yeah, being from the UK and only ever driving manual transmission with the seat on the right and gearstick on the left, the most comfortable feel for me was this. Now, any Canadian friends that come round and fancy havin' a go, will either have to suffer, go Auto, or I'll move the shifter to the right alongside the wheel for them.

It's certainly solid and does the job well, especially after I lowered the front legs as I couldn't see over the wheel initially as I'd built it before I had the wheel. On the 'to do' list is still to alter the position of pedals and gearstick a little, trim the board down where the pedals mount (looks untidy), fit a keyboard mount and of course, a beer holder!! I might consider some cosmetic upgrades, but we'll see.

$50 for all that It looks strong enough for me. I have lost a few screws and bolts from the seat and wheel last couple months at Int and Expert DSS lol.

omg you guys , sweet setups ,im not going to post a pic . just know im sitting on a couch with my controler in my hands in front of a 42 inch tv ( lcd ) 5.1 sound and a grin on my face.

you guys are gonna cringe when you see my setup, lemme give you guys a hint, it employs an unintentional use of an Ethernet cable. ill post up pics later

DD, the track master will have you tested for your alcohol level before you are allowed on the track. The law stated that you can't have open bottle in the car while driving

You are mistaken Clubbers, The bottle is clearly outside of the automobile! Besides I cant drive with it on my dashboard, for obvious reasons!

Change the chair for a couch and the table for the T.V. tray...that's my set up...lol (the beer is on my right side though)

Updated the rig a bit today to add a keyboard holder, which can be pivoted and folded away when not in use. The parts came from a used exercise bench 'type thing' that I picked up for $25, purely for the frame and assortment of hinges and adjustable bars to add to/make a new rig.
