| A RIP'smas Carol T'was the night before Christmas
and all 'round the track,
the cars were flying
running lap after lap.
The trophies displayed
in Victory Lane with care,
my hopes were someday
MY name would be there.
The racers were strapped
all snug in their seats,
adreniline pumping
at such blistering speeds.
And I in my nomex,
and ma in hers too,
had just crossed the line
to start lap number two.
When out on the front stretch
there arose such a clatter,
crews strained their necks
to see what was the matter.
Out of the last turn,
the cars did dash.
Fans rose to their feet
while cameras did flash.
The roar of the crowd
let everyone know,
these lustures objects
were the main show.
When what in my rear view
mirror should appear,
but a tight racing pack
of eight flying RIPsters.
These incredable drivers,
so lively and quick,
that I knew in a moment
it must be 'ol RIP.
More rapid than eagles
down the course they came.
Fans whistled, and shouted,
and called them by name;
"Now Joker! Now BlackJack!
Now Clubbers and Spades!
On Welsh_Don! On Deadman!
On 3D and PokerFace!"
And then in a moment
I felt on my back,
The howling and growling
of this venomus RIP pack.
As I mashed on the gas,
my wheels spinning around,
right on by,
went RIP with a bound!
With a wink of their eye,
and a nod of their head,
soon gave me to know,
I had nothing to dread.
With only kind words
they laugh while they work,
nary a rough driver,
never a jerk.
Now holding his finger,
number one in the air,
in Victory Lane.
Only RIPster was there.
He sprang to his ride,
to his team gave a whistle,
and away they all flew
like the down of a thistle.
And I heard him exclaim,
as he drove off
with that cup...
"Keep your foot on the floor,
and the shiney side up!!!"Merry RIP'smas to all, and to all a hard right! DMH | |
