PSN Down

As SK stated before, it has happenned. PSN will be down for at least today, possibly tomorrow also. For some reason I suspect more traffic on the forum... LOL.

This BETTER not anything to do with those (deep breath).....

Latest update, they're saying PSN could be another couple of days offline. Hopefully F1 is still okay for you guys to run. I guess we'll keep our fingers crossed.

LOL, they're in Limbo! Dang bro. Always leave your best driver offline, then (when the system is working ok of course) put them online each day while you are on. Then when maintenance or issues happen, you have a bspec guy free to use. Otherwise you'll have to fire one and build a new one.

I was reading an article about Hackers the other day,apparantely the intusion of the PSN framework is the work of a "Cracker" and not a "Hacker".A Hacker is someone who looks for solutions to problems and is constructive and a Cracker is someone that just tries to invade programmming and destroys it for personal gain and satisfaction.

Nothing should take more than 2 days to restore everything back to original. There're daily and weekly backups as well as monthly not to mention Disaster recovery site.

Not sure what PSN has been doing all these times

The only thing I could think of is they're still looking for that "hole" then find a way to patch it up and of course they need to make sure no one else can penetrate through their firewalls again.

Lets put this in perspective...

From what we heard from SK, and from what we know already this could be serious... The attackers hit on the Number 2 Weekend for gaming online. Easter. Number 1 being Christmas - New Years. This is the weekend all kids are home, their parents are busy entertaining or travelling. The issue is... our assailants may have succeeded.

As you recall, their goal was to take PSN down if they didn't settle, well, they did settle, yet the assailant still took'em out; and denied responsibility. Actually PSN describes the whole situation differently, stating it was due to a separate legal issue entirely. It is stated that the issue is going to continue for the unforseeable future.

My guesses are that on Tuesday Morning, It'll be Like Nuthin' happened....

Tuesday sounds about right. I read somewhere sony is already on a new server and restoring back-ups. Also read that they are reinforcing security on the new servers.

They need a solution, a quick solution to restore service then work on the long term plan. This is just a game network not like they're losing $100mil a day, I guess we can't expect more than what we have received
