Dead's day at the track Empty

I got to hit my first road course at Heartland Park Topeka. I took my 2006 Mazda RX8 out for 3 sessions around the 2.15 mile short course. The car has a 1.3L Rotory engine with a K&N Typhoon intake and TurboXS cat back system.

The day started with a talk with instructors followed by a ride along in their cars. First driving session was with my instructor riding in my car, so I didn't get any video of that session. Unfortunate, as I started at the end of the line and passed every other car on the track in 2 laps! The instructor had me pull into the pits and let him out. He said he was just holding me up, lol.

First video is of my second session. There were just 3 of us on track. Myself, a Boss 302 and a Porche Boxter. They pulled out right behind me leaving the pits and I lapped them both. Sorry for the poor audio, wind noise clears up in places.

Second video is the third session. I roll out with a Camaro ZR1 and a tuned Lexus IS. My lines were much cleaner this session. The other two cars were fast, but they didn't just leave me. Most distance was made down the front straight when their horsepower would take over.

She's a great little ride, my RIPs. Looking forward to my next run!!!
