nascar, road , rally,etc.

i was thinking , i know ,oh man here goes 1 eye . but their are so many types of racing in gt5 , should we all be proficant at all types of racing , or should we have a rally team ,a nascar team , and a road team , some guys are good at the circles while others are more adapted to the road coarses and even some may be better at the dirt and snow of rally than others . its just wild thinking at this point . throwing it out there for discussion thats all . finding the right type of racers for each style of racing is one way to keep rip at the front of the online race world . black jack what you think , i cant wait to drive something besides these damn streetcars . inter team events im shure we will all run together as we do now. but if there is racing against other teams we should have some specialists for the different types of racing. rally, nascar , and roadrace.

We've (the admin team) have talked about this. Our concern is spreading the team out too thin. We want to keep racing the WRE as a group as you mentioned.

We know that some driver will lean towards styles they like, and that's ok. If a RIP driver want to put on a specialized race (rally/nascar), just shoot us a suggestion and we can set it up.

As far as the WRE is concerned, we'll try to keep it well rounded as far as the different styles are concerned. We're also keeping in mind that we haven't played the game yet...so our minds are open and we'll adjust so everyone has fun.

Splitting into different styles is possible in the future. If a group of RIPs find they love rally or nascar....Cool.

I'm sure we can set up a specialist group to challenge the other teams. Just keep in mind that these groups will be considered "extra credit" (maybe the Aces will give rank points). We still want as many RIPsters in the WRE as possible.

Unless there are "hidden tracks" in GT5, NASCAR will only have Daytona and Indianapolis ovals.
So my choices would be road and rally, dirt not ice, I have enough of that in the "great white north" lol.

I think it is something that will take it's own path, so to speak. People will drift towards the style of racing they prefer, but as long as RIP grows, then we can be diverse and have specialists in each discipline. The lack of ovals probably won't be an issue as there is the track editor/creator to build more, which shouldn't be too challenging. I just hope the WRE will continue to be supported in the way it is now, where RIP's compete even if it isn't their favoured combination of track/car etc.

Well worth bringing this point up 1Eyed and I'll guess we'll have to see how things unfold with GT5.

If the WRE is a mix of road, dirt, rally, oval, etc, etc., it will present a situation where racers would shine in their preferred racing style as well as allow the racer(s) to gain experience and work on their weakness. This in turn would also affect the overall points standing where racers would gain on each other based on the race format. I think ... ... anyway that's how it's supposed to work

BJ mentioned "specialize groups", maybe consider/emphasize recruiting new members based on their preferred racing style.

I think having track/car specialists would be a good idea. It would help by having a 'go to' guy for direction and tips. Of course, after a while that may broaden to include more than 1 guy.
Having different disiplines of racing included for the WRE will definitely help all participents in the series.

yes i agree the wre is the rip showcase event in my mind. its the reason i even get up on tuesday lol. it will be a great tool in learning the different styles of racing together as a team. it will be interesting to see who shines in certan conditions like the snow and ice . or the mud of a rally in the rain. gt4 has trained me well in some of these areas. dirt and snow, i hate the snow races. love the dirt . it will be great i think.

I like the idea of having the different race types included. I think though that we should encourage participation in any of the WRE rather than see specialized racers show up only during their favourite race type.

One problem I can see is having the same cars. Does anyone know how the manufacturers will be available? Will it be all cars available or only certain manufacturers available on certain days, like the PSP version?

Oh by the way, I wanted a taste of GT5 so bad I went out and bought the PSP and GT for it. LOL. It is cool.

It looks like the same cars will be at the dealerships, however you can only buy them at certain experiance levels.

The used car dealer has different cars when you visit(don't know how often they rotate) and experiance levels are in play there too.

An interesting feature I saw in a video. A car option drop down showed "share with friend" and "give to friend". Hmmm...it will be cool if we can share cars. It will make the WRE alot easier...lol

Cool! I knew that one could share cars on the PSP version and to GT5 from PSP, but it would be really cool if we could share from GT5 to GT5!!!

We don't want to become one dimensional,doesn't matter what track or what type of racing it is,if it's racing then we should race it.so for future WRE events i expect a mix of rally,road courses,formula 1,karting,nascar and any other type of racing that is available to us.i personally plan on learning every single track before i get involved in any serious online racing or study time as i refer to it.

I don't think we'll be doing any "serious" (points) racing until the new year.

Don't get me wrong though. Tuesday is still race night. We would still like to see everyone show up for some fun in our private lobby. RIP paid a lot of "money" to rent the tracks. We even paid extra to keep the lopers off so we can race by ourselves...lol.

We'll see where we are as far as progress on Monday.

joker , your right ,becoming proficiant at all the types of racing will be the best way. we all did it in 4 and it should be the same in 5 . im glad i threw it out there tho got some good feedback. with the talent on this team it should be no problem to be fast everywhere. thx for input everyone.
